Histogram of the orbital eccentricity of particles with different radii, as indicated. The histograms are stacked in order of increasing size, as in Figure 4. Only particles with a semi-major axis smaller than 0.5 a (i.e. orbiting inside the circumprimary disc) are represented. The smallest particles (1 mm) do not drift across the gap region as they are held back by the positive pressure gradient at the gap edge. The results refer to the base model.
