M87 jet structure comparison based on yearly stacked EAVN images at 43 GHz in 2017 and 2018 (see also Cui et al. 2023). The restoring beam size is 0.5 mas circular Gaussian, as indicated in the bottom-left corner. The image has been rotated by −18°. Contour levels are scaled as (1, 2, 4...)×C_1st, where C_1st is 1.8 mJy beam⁻¹ in 2017 and 1.3 mJy beam⁻¹ in 2018. For M87* mass M_BH = 6.5 × 10⁹ M_⊙ (Event Horizon Telescope Collaboration 2019a), 1 mas ≈ 125 r_s ≈ 0.08 pc, where r_s is the Schwarzschild radius.
