Exemplary selection from the total ensemble of porous BA (top row), BAM1 (moddle row), and BAM2 (bottom row) aggregates for the effective grain radii aeff = 200 nm (left column), aeff = 350 nm (middle column), and aeff = 500 nm (right column) with the corresponding numbers of monomers Nmon and neighbourhood connections Ncon. Monomers are sampled to guarantee an exact effective radius aeff. The radius aout is associated to the smallest sphere enclosing the entire aggregate. Axes a^1,a^2,${\hat a_1},{\hat a_2},$ and a^3${\hat a_3}$ are defined by the grain’s moments of inertia Ia1 > Ia2 > Ia3, where a^1${\hat a_1}$ is the designated axis of grain rotation.
