Ratio between outer and inner width of the dust rings in a sample of transition disks, as derived in Appendix E. The blue symbols correspond to the inner ring, and the orange symbols to the outer ring, if present. Disks with an inner pedestal have been marked with a star. The targets are sorted by the average value of the ratio. Lower values ≲1 are thought to correspond to Group A (Jovian protoplanets with a dust trap), and higher values ≳1 are thought to correspond to Group B (Neptunian protoplanets which are creating an apparent cavity by pebble accretion.
