X-ray photo-desorption of NH3 and N2 from ammonia ices: Mechanisms and yields in protoplanetary disks

TEY from pristine ammonia ices, deposited and measured at the indicated temperature (23 or 75 K). Features A and B are attributed to electronic transitions (see text). The N 1s binding energy (E_b = 403.6 eV) determined for ammonia clusters is taken from Lindblad et al. (2009). The photon flux is ~2 × 10¹¹ ph s⁻¹, fluence is 0–1 × 10¹⁵ ph cm⁻².
