Initial mass–final mass relations for SMC stars. Data points of SMC WR stars are shown with circles (based on Hainich et al. 2015) and squares (based on Martins et al. 2009; Martins 2023), the numbers indicating their identifier (e.g., 1 for SMC AB1). The gray shaded region indicates He core masses at the terminal-age main sequence (MHe core, TAMS) from evolutionary models of Schootemeijer et al. (2019), for overshooting values between 0.22 and 0.44. The colored lines show the following relations from literature: MIST (Dotter 2016; Choi et al. 2016), Schn23 (Schneider et al. 2023), Bonn (Schootemeijer et al. 2019), Geneva (Georgy et al. 2013), SEVN+PARSEC (Iorio et al. 2023, overshooting value of 0.4), Belc10 (Belczynski et al. 2010, data taken from Fig. 2 of Banerjee et al. 2020), MOBSE (Giacobbo et al. 2018), and Hurl00 (Hurley et al. 2000, data taken from Fig. 1 of Belczynski et al. 2010).
