Continuum images of the stellar populations in the rest-frame R, B, and U bands, based on the stack of the red and blue parts of the JWST/NIRSpec data (corresponding to detectors NRS2 and 1, respectively), as well as on the HST F140W image from Decarli et al. (2019), resampled on the same pixel scale. The images are shown after subtracting the quasar light, and masking the regions not associated with the companions. The two galaxies are marginally detected in the JWST observations. The western companion appears bluer than the eastern companion, although the significance is modest.
