Early-type galaxies are larger in effective radius when M_⋆ ≲ 10⁸ M_⊙ compared to the late-type galaxies (upper). However, in their edge radii (lower), the early-type galaxies are systematically smaller by ∼20% than the late-type ones across the full stellar mass range.
