Radial profiles of number density (top), radial speed (middle), and temperature (bottom) for a discontinuous and quasi-discontinuous fast solar wind solution in double logarithmic scaling to detect every deviation on all scales in the range from 1 R⊙ to 30 R⊙. The discontinuous solution (black dotted line) was analytically obtained by the procedure of Shergelashvili et al. (2020), the steady state solution (solid red line) was obtained numerically using a heating function as given in Eq. (3), and the time-asymptotic solution (blue crosses) was obtained numerically using the CRONOS code with the corresponding heating function as described with Eq. (9). The time-asymptotic solution gives the structure ten days after the switch to the quasi-discontinuous solar wind solution was set up.
