Graphical definition of the main observational parameters characterizing the long thin stellar structure discovered by vD23. We analyze two interpretations: a stellar wake produced by a runaway SMBH escaping from the host galaxy, and a disk of a bulgeless edge-on galaxy randomly associated with a second galaxy. The image, taken from vD23, corresponds to the rest-frame UV because the objects are at redshift ∼1 and were observed at wavelengths between 600 and 800 nm (L ≃ 60 kpc, Ra ≃ 25 kpc, and r⋆ ≃ 1 kpc; see Table 2). The corresponding stellar masses are given in parentheses. The galaxy marked with a cross is seen in projection and does not belong to the analyzed scene.
