Effect of the orientation of the rotational axis on the number of fragments that hit Earth, Nimp. The minimum rotational period is assumed (2.04 hours for a rubble pile composition corresponding to 0.42 m s−1 surface velocity) for an asteroid-type impactor. The integration length is 0.6 and 1 years for left and right panels, respectively. Models A1-A4 (impact angles of ϕ = 0 and δ = 0° , 90° , 180° , and 270°) are investigated. The ratio of the minimum and maximum impact numbers, ΔNimp, are calculated for each model.
