Core rotation rate as a function of surface gravity for 2.5 M_⊙ models until the end of the core-helium-burning phase. The models are computed with Eq. (3) with α = 2 and D₀ = 50 and 2000 cm² s⁻¹ for the red and green lines, respectively. The blue and black line models are computed with Eq. (6) (including the enhancement by the molecular viscosity) using α = 2, D₁ = 50 and α = 1, D₁ = 300, respectively. The grey triangles correspond to red giants in the lower red-giant branch (Gehan et al. 2018) and the black circles and orange squares to intermediate-mass core-helium-burning stars in the secondary clump (Deheuvels et al. 2015; Tayar et al. 2019).
