Shapes of streams produced by dissolving star clusters in the dissolving star cluster model. The panels in the left column show all particles of a single star cluster in the chosen sample, while the right column includes only the stars of the same star cluster that are recovered and flagged as a stream by BEACON. The top row shows a recently dissolved cluster recovered by BEACON as a one-side stream. The middle row illustrates a cluster orbiting mainly in the x − z plane. The bottom row shows a cluster orbiting mainly in the x − y plane. BEACON recovers the main feature of the one-side stream of the recently dissolved cluster. It also recovers the both-side streams of the two other clusters independent of the orbital orientation. It is clear that BEACON has problems recovering the stars in the central region, which do not have large velocity differences. This behaviour is caused by the relatively large weights for the spatial coordinates.

Current usage metrics show cumulative count of Article Views (full-text article views including HTML views, PDF and ePub downloads, according to the available data) and Abstracts Views on Vision4Press platform.

Data correspond to usage on the plateform after 2015. The current usage metrics is available 48-96 hours after online publication and is updated daily on week days.
