H I column density as a function of Doppler-shift velocity and Galactic longitude summed over –2° < b < 2°. Total column densities from each pseudo-Voigt profile were assigned to the velocity of the peak. The black lines show the boundaries that we defined to separate the three structures along the line of sight: local arm, Perseus arm, and outer Arm and beyond (from top to bottom).
