Table 2.

Compared magnitude of Joule and background heating for all heating models.

Heating Joule
(erg cm−3 s−1) Background

Model E RE M1 RM1
FR centre 8.5e−5 8.3e−5 7.5e−5 8.5e−5
ȃ(final snapshot) 6.3e−4 1.9e−4 5.4e−4 2.8e−4
Reconnection sites 1.4e−1 1.4e−1 2.4e−1 1.1e−1
ȃ(t = 1888 s) 1.1e−3 1.1e−3 1.5e−3 1.1e−3

Notes. The magnitude of Joule heating is usually smaller or comparable to that of background heating, except for locations of reconnection and mass slippage, i.e., strong localised currents.

Current usage metrics show cumulative count of Article Views (full-text article views including HTML views, PDF and ePub downloads, according to the available data) and Abstracts Views on Vision4Press platform.

Data correspond to usage on the plateform after 2015. The current usage metrics is available 48-96 hours after online publication and is updated daily on week days.
