Color-composite images combining observations in GALEX near-UV (blue channel), DECam r-band (green channel), and continuum subtracted Hα (red channel) of NGC 3312 (top panel) and NGC 3314 (bottom panel). Each panel also shows the regions used to estimate the current star formation rate in the stripped material. The tail region of NGC 3312 is contaminated by several foreground stars; these have been excluded (see crossed-out patches for masked areas) before integrating the total Hα luminosity of the region.
