Constructed flare event of Etot = 2 × 1033 erg, using the fiducial flare code of Loyd et al. (2018a) with δSi IV ≃ 105 s. We assume an instantaneous increase to the peak flux Fp (green) for the duration of tcol ≃ 2.2 × 103 s, followed by an instantaneous decrease to the quiescent flux Fq (purple).
