Reconstruction of synthetic M87 observation with a possible ngEHT array taken from the ngEHT Analysis Challenge (Roelofs et. al. 2022). The true image is presented in the upper panels, and the reconstruction with DoG-HiT in the lower panels. The left panels show the ground truth and the recovered images in linear scale, the middle panels in logarithmic scale (i.e., highlighting the extended emission from the jet basis), and the right panels compare the ground truth and the recovered image, both smoothed with a restoring beam of 20 µas.
