Distribution of the magnitude of the HVS galactocentric latitudinal velocity, |vϑ|, in a Galaxy with an extremely prolate DM halo (qz = 1.4; blue histogram), a spherical DM halo (qz = 1; gray, shaded histogram), and an extremely oblate DM halo (qz = 0.7; green histogram). The distributions were generated with the same initial conditions (mock catalogs A) to highlight the effect of the different geometries of the DM halo.
