The characterization applies to MG and DM models alike. The reference radii rtot and rN are the radii of maximum total acceleration and maximum baryonic acceleration, as defined in Eq. (1). The reference radii robs and rbar are the analogues in the data. The curve segments 𝒞± are defined in Eq. (3).
