Three-color image (green = Spitzer-IRAC4 8 μm, red = Midcourse Space Experiment (MSX) 21.3 μm, blue = Herschel-PACS 70 μm) of the G305 star-forming complex. The 21.3 μm emission is dominated by hot dust in the HII region. The colder gas is traced by the 70 μm emission. The interface between the ionized and molecular gas appears as a blend of green (strong 8 μm emission from PAHs), blue (colder molecular gas) and occasionally red (interfaces very close to HII regions). The positions of Danks 1 and 2 clusters have been marked with the smaller and the larger yellow circles respectively and the Wolf-Rayet star WR48a has been marked as a filled white star.
