HD 142527 Qϕ image of the outer disk in H-band with IRDIS. The two yellow circles at 0.6′′ and 1.75′′ indicate the annulus aperture we used to measure the total disk intensity. A white disk with radius 0.2′′ covers the inner part of the image, which is dominated by residuals from speckles and from the coronagraph. The position of the star behind the disk is marked with a cross. The dashed line indicates the approximate direction of the disk major axis at a position angle of − 20°. The scale isin counts for a 16 s DIT. North is up and east is to the left. The features to the southwest of the disk originate from defects on the IRDIS detector.
