Measurements of the GC distance over time with a focus on studies of the S2 orbit. Blue points show results obtained with the SINFONI, NACO, and GRAVITY data with (dark blue) and without (light blue) application of the aberration corrections. Gray R0 determinations are based on data from the Keck observatory. For comparison, we show in black results that are based on the statistical parallax of the nuclear star cluster (Chatzopoulos et al. 2015) and from modeling the Milky Way dynamics based on observations of molecular masers (Reid et al. 2019). Bland-Hawthorn & Gerhard (2016) finally reported the GC distance based on a combination of various methods.
