RVs of the stellar surface regions occulted by HD 209458 b in the first (blue points) and second (red points) night. Their extraction was performed for the nominal transit properties from Evans et al. (2015) in the top panel and for the adjusted properties in the bottom panel. The solid black line is the best-fit solid-body model to the RVs obtained for the adjusted properties. Vertical dotted lines show the times of transit contacts.
