Metallicity profiles in three adjacent horizontal strips in the central region of M 31. The B/P bulge extends to x ≈ 2.5 − 3 kpc and z ≈ 1 kpc, while the bar length is ∼4 kpc. The maximum along the second (green) [Fe/H] profile corresponds approximately to the end of the B/P bulge.
