Dependence of the major merger fraction on galaxy stellar mass in the GAMA/KiDS observations and in the TNG simulations. The trends in the three GAMA fields agree well with each other, except at the most massive end which is severely limited by sample size. The vertical dotted line marks where galaxy stellar mass = 10^10.5 M_⊙, which is where kinetic AGN feedback takes over at late times in the TNG simulations.
