Table 2.
Absolute uncertainties on the shape measurements in TNG100 galaxies.
r ∼ 2 rsoft | r ≥ 9 rsoft | ||
---|---|---|---|
Δp, Δq | ≲0.1 | ∼0.02 | |
ΔT | − | ∼0.2 | |
2 rsoft | 9 rsoft | rout | |
log10M*/M⊙ : 10.3 − 10.4 | 0.76 Re | 3.5 Re | ∼8 Re |
log10M*/M⊙ : 10.6 − 10.7 | 0.47 Re | 2 Re | ∼8 Re |
log10M*/M⊙ > 11 | < 0.25 Re | ≲1 Re | ∼11 Re |
Notes. The table lists: Δp, Δq, and ΔT at 2 rsoft and 9 rsoft (first two rows), which correspond to different multiples of Re for galaxies of different mass as shown in the last three rows. Triaxiality measurements are considered unreliable for r < 9 rsoft. The radius rout indicates the mean radius of the outermost shell that contains at least 1000 particles for at least 95% of the galaxies within the indicated stellar mass bins.
