Apparent velocity of components in the jet of PKS 2153−69 as a function of average core distance. A clear linear increasing trend is seen, indicating downstream acceleration. The de-projected linear core distance has been calculated assuming the maximum possible viewing angle of ∼27° (see the lower panel of Fig. 7). The topmost x-axis is in units of Schwarzschild radii (Rs).
