Quality of fit metrics for π Men (yellow cross) and a sample of stars within a factor of two brightness (points) from the Gaia catalog. The parameters shown are the χ² of the fit of the five-parameter astrometric model to the measurements (top panel), an analog of a reduced χ² (middle panel), and the sum of the residuals (bottom panel). The quality of the fit for π Men is consistent with that of other stars of a similar brightness.
