Emission spectra of ATMO model atmospheres generated under the assumption of chemical equilibrium (black) and non-equilibrium chemistry due to vertical mixing (red). Non-equilibrium models are calculated with the strong Kzz mixing relationship with surface gravity, as shown in Fig. 1. Rows: models with different effective temperatures, columns: models with different surface gravities, as indicated in the plot titles. Overplotted for clarity are the approximate locations of molecular absorption features causing differences between the equilibrium and non-equilibrium spectra. Also indicated in the plots are the locations of the Mauna Kea near-infrared photometric filters (blue bars), and the WISE infrared filters (green bars).
