Transmission profile of the VISIR narrow-band filters NEII (grey line) and NEII_2 (orange line). The Spitzer/IRS high-resolution spectrum from Lebouteiller et al. (2015) suggests that contamination from PAH emission is not present within the inner kiloparsec (solid green line, right axis). A blueshifted emission line with −1000 km s−1 (dotted vertical line) would find the same transmission in both narrow-band filters, and therefore would not appear in the continuum-subtracted map.
