Notes. The estimates are given for the two observation modes (VIFU and HMM-VIS) and the two configurations studied here. The numbers in parentheses indicate the estimates if the observations are conducted under poorer seeing conditions (see the main text in Sect. 4.2.2). The third line gives an independent estimate of the survey speed ratio of the two modes.
