Close-up on the ICL in the core of MACS J0717 in the HST mosaic F814W image. The stars and the large foreground galaxy are masked by hand (the external halo of the galaxy is still visible here), and the same wavelet processing as for the HFF has been applied. The contours show the 3σbkg detection limit. Part of the ICL contribution is detected in this image, showcasing the fact that this mosaic is deep enough to detect the brightest component of the ICL.
