Cloud distribution for w = 2.0, g_ex = 3. and g_in = 0.1 for two different black hole masses: M_BH ≃ 2 × 10⁶ M_⊙ in red and M_BH ≃ 3.2 × 10⁷ M_⊙ in green. For each M_BH value, all the clouds in the entire size range shown in the figure can contribute to broad line formation, whereas only the portion of the distribution drawn as a solid line corresponds to clouds potentially producing X-ray occultations.
