The zero point is the predicted value derived from the space motion of Praesepe. The ΔV∥-axis points in the direction of the CP. Stars are colour coded by their individual probability of contamination pcont. Right: distribution of the same stars in the YP, XP-plane. In this figure we use a Galactic Cartesian coordinate system with origin in the centre of the Praesepe cluster and not, as usual, in the barycentre of the solar system. Praesepe and its tails are represented by the large dark structure at XP, YP = (0, 0). The over-density at XP, YP = (445 pc, 220 pc) is the open cluster Collinder 350.
