Region around the Ca II triplet (CaT) for the three stars previously identified as candidate AGB stars, together with a stacked spectrum of the 16 next brightest objects at the top of the red giant branch (i.e. excluding the three candidate AGB stars). CaT absorption is seen in the brightest two (MSB 13 and 18) and in the stacked data.
