Close examination of PSR J1048+2339 companion in late March 2018. The light curve of the companion star (triangle) and a nearby comparison star (circle) are plotted to confirm the magnitude decrease/increase at ϕ = 0.21 observed in the g′ (gray) and r′ (colored) band. The comparison star is relatively stable, indicating the observed variation at ϕ = 0.21 in J1048+2339 companion is likely genuine.
