The blue spectrum shows the scaled but unreddened quasar composite from Selsing et al. (2016). The thick red line shows the composite reddened by a LMC average extinction law with AV(DLA) = 0.43. The shaded region represents the strength of the 2175 Å bump (Abump(DLA) = 0.58 ± 0.003), that is the area between the reddened composite and the same reddened composite where the bump component (c3) has been set to zero.
