Velocities derived from the rise, peak, and decay times of each type III burst assuming a constant velocity and the Parker density model. For almost all the bursts, the rise time is faster than the peak velocity, which in turn is faster than the decay velocity. The errors on the velocities from the fit are smaller than the symbols.
