Summary of the orientation trends that drive the fate of satellites in their host halo. Alignment trends are distance dependent: filamentary trend dominates in the outskirt of the halo (for bluer satellites on average), while coplanar trend takes over inthe vicinity of the central (redder satellites on average). These trends may bias the standard expectation that the satellitesdistribution traces the overall shape of the diffuse dark matter halo (orange ellipses). More probably, specific populations of satellites (selected in mass, colour and separation) trace specific parts of the halo and the embedding cosmic web.
