Spectral index maps for quasi-simultaneous observations at 43 GHz (BG, epoch 2008-09-10) and 15 GHz (MOJAVE, 2008-09-12). Both maps are restored with a common beam shown on the bottom left and the spectral index α = log S1S2∕log ν2ν1 is computed accordingly for each pixel. The required shift of the 43 GHz map relative to the one at 15 GHz is − 0.22 mas in right ascension and − 0.09 mas in declination. The shift is determined by matching the flux-averaged mean x/y positions of the brightest components in both individual maps, excluding the core.
