Galactic longitude (left) and latitude size (right) distributions for candidate (green) and known (red) SNRs. The light gray histograms show the distribution of H ii regions from the WISE catalog. The longitude distributions of the candidate and known SNRs are similar, with the most obvious exception being the larger number of candidates near ℓ = 30°. The Galactic latitude distributions in the right panel are not statistically different, nor are they different from that of H ii regions. There is no indication that the SNR sample is significantly incomplete near b = 0° where confusion is the greatest.
