Bolometric light curves computed with heracles for our full set of models. Times are given since the first signal detection at the outer boundary. The time resolution in the heracles simulation is always less than a minute and it is less than a second around the phase of shock breakout. The insets show the same quantity but zooming on the earliest times, concomitant with shock breakout. Progenitors with a larger radius or with a denser atmosphere/wind (here confined to within 5−10 R⋆) have a longer shock breakout signal and an enhanced luminosity at early times powered by the interaction with the atmosphere/wind.
