The black dashed line is the effective temperature Teff, reached near the terminal age main sequence (TAMS, Xc< 0.01) in these simulations. The blue curve corresponds to the mass loss rate from the default MESA routine, which uses a linear interpolation between Eqs. (A.1) and (A.2). The red curve is the mass loss rate from our customized routine, where we interpolate using a hyperbolic tangent.
