Approximately 50% of the planets are ejected from the systems during the scattering, resulting in a much smaller total number of planets in the scattered population. The vertical dashed lines at 10 and 400 AU mark the semi-major axis range where the average detection probability of our observations is ~50% or more for massive companions.
