Intensity profiles of the Mg ii h 279.64 nm line at μ_Z = 0.953 computed using the Multi3D (solid) or the RH (dots) codes in CRD (red) or PRD (blue, white). PRD profiles are computed using either the hybrid approximation (blue) or full angle-dependent redistribution (white). The model atmosphere is FAL-C with modified vertical velocities. The profiles are shown for six different velocity configurations illustrated by the inset plots.
