Fig. 1

Three sample spectra with solar metallicity, surface gravity log g = 4, and effective temperatures (in decreasing order of flux level) of 6000, 5000, and 4000 K. For each model there are two curves, one corresponding to the Kurucz (1993) models (in black) and one to the more recent spectral energy distributions by Allende Prieto et al. (in prep.; red). Both are shown at a resolving power of R ~ 200 and smoothed (thick lines) to R ~ 8, corresponding to the effective resolution of a broad-band photometric filter. The position and shape of the responses for the different filters under consideration are shown with an arbitrary normalization. The GALEX FUV and the WISE W1 and W2 bandpasses fall outside of the spectral range represented.
