Table 3

Overview of the performed experiments and abundances of the formed species of VUV photolysis at 13 K of pure H2CO and a H2O:H2CO ice mixture.

HCOOH n.d n.d. <1 × 1015 <1
H2CO3 n.d. n.d 1 × 1014 <0.1

Notes. The time of photolysis is 3 h in the case of pure H2CO and 23 h in the case of the H2O:H2CO ice mixture. The total amount of H2CO consumed (Nc(H2CO)) is 2.7 × 1017 molec cm-2 for pure H2CO and 1.5 × 1017 for the H2O:H2CO ice mixture. The yields have been calculated as follows: (%)= N(X)/Nc(H2CO).

(a)

This value has been calculated as follow N(POM) = Nc(H2CO)-ΣN(X).
