Appearance of the UV spectrum for two dynamically consistent CSPN models with different stellar parameters (as labeled), illustrating the strong reaction of the UV spectrum to changes in the stellar parameters. Because of this sensitive dependence, the UV spectrum can be used diagnostically for a fine-grained determination of the stellar parameters, in particular the masses.
