Notes. A star symbol in front of the sightline marks systems analyzed in this paper. Data of all other systems are from table A3 in Welty & Crowther (2010). With one exception all sample A systems also are class 1 systems ([Ti/Ca] ≳ + 1). The sample A system with z = 1.0232 is a class 2 system [Ti/Ca] ≃ 0). For most of the sample B systems the upper limit of [Ti/Ca] is too high to decide whether it is a class 1 or 2 system. We expect systems with [Ti/Ca] < 0.5 to be class 2 systems.
Reference.
value calculated using the observed equivalent width of the Hα line given by Ryabinkov et al. (2004; 1.53 ± 0.11 Å) with the assumption that this line is in the damping part of the curve of growth.
